Waterstar sat on the high rock his tail flicking. Peace had finally settled over the clans with plenty of kits in this green leaf season. As he though back to leaf bare he remembered a awkward moment....
"Rainstar approached him and rested a tail on his flank. "Calm down, save your strength for when we meet those sorry twolegs." Rainstar growls, scraping her claws against the rock. "We will make them pay for their treachery." She vows, walking out of the den, and going out of the camp. Suddenly she is flanked by a warrior, Rainstar whips around and unsheathes her claws, teeth bared. "What are you doing here?!" She growls, looking at the tom who is in the shadows. The cat walks out and its Waterfall. "Out of all the arrogant cats I get stuck with you?!" She groans. Waterfall chuckles and stands next to her. "Im going to escort you out of MY territory. Just to make sure you dont try anything." He meows evenly. Rainstar hisses at him. "I can take care of myself! Why would I ever try to do anything in this place?" Waterfall looks at her. "My territory, My rules." "Its not just yours. Your acting as if your leader." Rainstar mumbles. "Am I actually TALKING to this cat?" She thinks to herself. "For the record, My best friend is the leader." He says as they walk through the trees. "Weaselstar?." She says outloud, sighing. "Just let me get home." "Im escorting you all the way." Waterfall meows, looking at her just now healing wounds. Rainstar didnt talk the entire way to the border, there was a caertain akwardness between them. When they reached the border, Rainstar went to her border side and forced a dip of gratitude. "Thanks.....for the escorting." She meows, looking away. "No problem. I mean--.....I was supposed to." Waterfall's gaze burned into her pelt and Rainstar felt it as she turned to leave. "Er.....Bye." She called over her shoulder, rushing off into the bushes. "Bye!" Waterfall called back.
Rainstar made it back to camp and went to Silverwhisp, tending her wounds and then getting a piece of prey. It was dark out do she went into her den after saying greetings to the clan and addressing what happened. Rainstar sat in her nest, curling her tail over her nose, still feeling Waterfalls pelt against hers.
A feeling of anguish came over him as he remembered his old friend. Rainstar and Weasestar had died at the claws of Blackclaw but Rainstar took him to the grave with her.
Suddenly his mind flickered back to the fire...
"FIRE, FIRE, WAKE UP!" came the voice of moonleaf. "Gets the kits out!" she yowled as she pushed her way into the nursery. The queens there eyes frantic quickly picked up there kits and and handed them to warriors. Waterstar his face scared with fear nudged sandclaw his daughter, his medicine cat, and wisest friend as she dashed out with echosong, her mentor. "Go to moonclan territory they are on the other side of the stream!" he yowled before signaling with his tail for the clan to go on. Turning around waterstar raced into the elders den and nudged tanglefur to her feet. "COME ON!" he hissed hurrying her along. Fear forcing him without realizing he ended up racing ahead of her and leaving her behind in the flames....
He needed to thank moonclan properly. Gathering ThunderStorm MoonLeaf and Sandclaw with him he headed out carrying a bundle of herbs, prey, and moss.
